Donnerstag 29th März 2007 - HAWR, HAWR

Jam packed day.. But fun. Haaad to get up for 12noon to vespa to HAW with Jools. Re-visited the meeting point for the first time in over a year - everythings the same.. even the waiter. Only reason I remember is because we spent every evening there on the EEE Ham trip ;) Had a coffee and croissant waiting for Jools to finish. Even visited 'Oh..so fresh' looking for my Evian cartons, but the guy told me they didnt do Evian, and the water they stocked was just as good. Nooooo it wasn't. I wanted the carton!!! When Jools was finished we vespa'd to a cafe right next to the water, got myself a becks and we sat with our legs dangling over into the water.. but not in the water.. get me?! Hmmm. Kinda hard for Jools with his 3 metre long legs.. ha ha ha. Afterwards we went to the area near Hauptbahnhof.. the main station.. i think?!?!?! im sure it is.. but went to a Portugese cafe for some breakfast (at 3pm, yes) and sat in the windy-sunshine.

4pm hit and I dashed back to my flat quickly to get showered.. then jumped a train to Altona to meet Andreas and crew for another BBQ. Unfortunately only had about an hour to spare as I was working at 6pm. Nice set-up over looking the harbour, but twas windier than usual, and kinda cold, so everyone decided to leave at half5, so I hitched a lift to Finnigans with Ollie..

Work was crazy crazy crazy busy. When its like that, admittidly its fun, but sometimes it really kills you.. When theres enough work for 4 people, but one person has to do it - well, it kinda suuucckkks. Was a long shift too, and so busy that I didnt actually finish until 2am.. even then, there were still people in the pub. Had a well deserved Vodka-Orange whilst clearing up and then a couple glasses of vino to unwind with some peops at the bar. Met two really cool guys, who interestingly enough, were talking about 'Germans' and their culture.. was strange to find everything they were saying was what I had experienced already from 1.5months here. (oh my gooooshhh, iv been here 1.5months. only 1.5more) We blarred some tunes and relaxed at the bar for a while, enjoying the freeee boozes. mwaaha.. if only our wretched, alcoholic manager knew!

Mittwich 28th März 2007 - BBQ at the Alster

Guess what? Click the blog title for pics.. yess

Is it just me or was it the hoooottest day yet?? Lovely-Jubley! Uni working til 3pm which wasnt great considering the beautifulness outdoors.. at 4pm I headed to Julios to meet him & Andreas.. Vespa'd to the Alster for a bbq in the sun. Such a gorgeous spot, right on the water - with the sun directly on us. Maybe the reason it felt so hot. Whatever it was, i liiiike it very much. Toasty :)

The guys done a great job of prepping some lovely food - chicken, pork, mushrooms, courgettes, garlic bread, wurts, feta cheese.. good job! All I done was bring some Becks and OJ. Nice laze about on the grass, listening to some tunes & watching the ducks for a few hours. But all good things must come to an end..

Work at 8pm. Booooo. Although, it wasn't a bad shift.. not busy, but always had something to do. And nice tips again. Andreas, Julian & 2 others came to the pub for the footie and took a booth.. its funny spotting familiar faces when ur running about and forget whos there - its almost like a nice surprise every half hour. Things quietened down at half 11, so managed to get away at half 12.. headed over to Jools for some Prison Brrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeaaaaak. Cant beat it..

Dienstag 27th März 2007 - Sun Sun Sun

OUCH - can I first say that I've just tapped my arm and noticed a huge bruise!!! OUCHHH.. its sore.. oh, sorry..
..........................................................
For Julian; Sore:

1. Painful to the touch; tender.
2. Feeling physical pain; hurting: sore all over.
3. A source of pain, distress, or irritation.
...........................................................

oooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Andreas, do you remember on Thursday, when I was having a shower before the party I slipped in the bathroom and banged my arm???? I think this is the bruise. Blinkin 'ell, must have hit a weird part of it. Hmm, anyhoo..

But, another sunny day in Hamburg.. I was made for the sunshine, really.. hooot blooded to the bones. This morning I had uni stuff til 2pm, but also managed to arrange my bag to be shipped over.. finally. And a few other loose ends. But when 3pm hit, it was time to soak up some sunshine into my skin.. I store it for the cold days ;) Britta & I met on the Alster..

After we met we went to Starbucks for some Mango Ices and sat in the sun catching up on the weekend. We then hit the shops, and I think spent quite a while in H&M, as it was suddenly time for teeeea (dinner).. which was sooo convenient - Alsterhaus was right next door. Yummiie. Again, a bit plate of veggies and potatoes. A little desert and coffee too. Think we spent another two hours gabbing there, cause it was 7pm.. & took a walk around the Europassage checking out some shops, spending a little more time than would have liked in the loo's :)

Cmooooooon Hamburg, keep up the sunshine, pleeeeeeease??????

Another beautiful sunny day. I love them - even more than Hippos & Sunflowers. Make me happpiiieee. But woke up at half 12.. actually meant to wake earlier, but just slept right through - must have been the lazy night in bed with Prsion break tiring me out :) Sat outside at a cafe on Mullenkamp with yet another batch of bachwich & orange before heading home an hour later. Quick shower then out to meet Andreas for a coffee at 3pm, which turned into drinks in Altona til Midnight. Spontaneous! Good use of your favourite word Andreas, wouldnt you agree?? :)

We started in the Shanze in the Portugese cafe with drinks and muffins - had a nice chat in the sun for about 1.5hours and walked around a little.. he then took me to a bar where u can play with dolphins.. really.. I didnt beleive him, but he wasnt lying.. cooooool huh! Cant do that back home... haha. I tried my first ApfelShorle and again, we gabbed and gabbed til 6pm hit. Feeling hunrgy we took a walk around the Shanze, (or should I say we circled the Shanze, buuuuuuuhhhhhh) and didnt find anywhere appealing enough.. Actually I think Andreas just wanted to excercise today: the next 3 hours were spent going to Altona and walking around every little street we could feast our eyes on.. in search for the perfect dinner.. Admitidly it was really nice, we popped into some crafts shops and I even managed to indulge in 15minutes of fake-sunshine. mwahhaa. Meanwhile Andreas found the perfect place to eat.. Either that or he was just tooo hungry to keep looking.. heh. It was just after 9pm and we sat down to some yummy traditional Pakistan dishes and vino.. 2hours later with aloooooot of discussion and new vocabulary for Andreas, we headed over to a bar that his 'bekanchaft' worked in. And a coool bar it was: Really interesting use of lighting, and a kick-ass white leather sofa.. 2 Alsterwassers and the pub was closing.. so we headed back to Schaferkampsallee..

Nice coffee meeting Andreas ;)

Donnerstag 22nd März - Sonntag 23rd März 2007

Thursday: Met with Andreas outside the Alsterhaus for some lunch.. really gorgeous buffet style resteraunt - with everything you could possibly want to eat: spoilt for choice I opted for roasted corgettes, pan fried mushrooms and potatoes with a slice of pizza quiche - and a becks gold to help it all slide down ;) yummmiiie. absolutely delicious.. gagging to go back asap! We had to jet off quickly to a show booked at the Planaterium. Andy you would loovveee this. but its, well, a plantarium, and its incredible. You take a seat in a medium sized room, pull the handle on ur chair and lie back and look to the ceiling - seeing a huuuge curved screen that played a documentary on Egypt and the Stars.. in German, but still fascinating to watch. And so so comfortable.. think I understood all of two words. But more and more im thinking, 'heeey debbie, u didnt come to germany to hear english 24/7' - and no doubt, days after I leave germany.. im going to miss hearing the language - amongst other things, so really, I should take advantage and soak as much up as possible. Even on Friday night, 60% of the chat was in German, but it was cool, I find myself listening in fascination. Just watching their actions and facial expressions gives so much away about what they are saying.

oh but anyway.... After the show, Andreas & I went to a cafe.. on Mullenkamp and waited for Jools to join, which he didnt. But 2 hours later we decided to make a mooove and headed back to mine for some vino and party prep. It was a guys birthday bash at his flat, so whilst getting ready, we sipped some white and headed off around midnight. Will decided to join us at last minute which was cool. The party had already slowed down when we arrived, but twas foine.. free booze and thirsty tigers = drunkan fun! Jools joined us later at the flat, and after a few hours we all headed out. Some headed to the Kiez, but for some reason - which I cant remember, Andreas, Julio and I headed back to mine.. We pranced around my room a lil until falling asleep at another ridiculous hour..

Goood morning. Friday: went to Gloria for some breakfast with the boys around 11:30am with the guys enjoying an alsterwasser (i think) afterwards. By 4pm I was home. and unfortunately it was MY TURN to clean the bathroom.. that 4 people share. Yuk.. an hour later, I was finished, and got ready for Andreas poker night - which was cancelled, then rescheduled.. and again ;) Met some of Andreas friends, drank a little and headed on the ubahn at exactly 3:40am. I was poooooped.. really sleepy from the night before..

Saturday: Popped in for 'eine backwich santa fe und grosse orangensaft, bitte' before heading back to my flat to get ready for work.. started at 3:30pm and the football started soon after. It was actually the most hilarious shift yet - I was working the floor alone and with a group of 30 crrraazzzyyyy Irish stags to serve, I was swept off my feet. But no tabs, which means at least 3euro tip everytime they ordered a drink.. and they ordered alooot. Every single one was wasted, but so so funny. 'Debbbiiiiieeeeee babbbyyyyyyy, another hewefweizen, and i loooveee you' - screaming to me from the other side of the pub.. I even got 4 marrige proposals and one writing me letters telling me he was in love every time he ordered a drink. It was hilarious!

hhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Good fun, loots of tips :) But as soon as my shift finished I had a quick chat with Charlie and snuck out the front door.

After work I went to meet the guys at a pub near central station to watch some footie.. well.. i diiiidnt really watch that much, but Germany won, so everyone was happy.. Had a few beers and shared a bottle of Apfel shots (like apple sours back home..) and some food. mmmmmmm. We headed around midnight I think, and went to Andreas Pad in Lagenhorn.. right in the centre of town ;) Drank a little more.. played some tuunes - I had a little 20 minute powernap before we headed to the fischmarkt at 6am. Think I was sleeeepy, but still enjoying watching the guys being wasted and jumping around like loons. The walk down to the markt is stunning - the sun was rising and the air was fresh.. clear blue skies and the smell of.. fish. Really lovely. We headed back around half 8.. dont think iv ever looked forward to my bed as much as when on the ubahn back to Schlump this morning.

Finally got to sleep around half 9ish and woke at 3pm.. the sun was blazing.. such a cracking day. So jools & I collected the Vespa, met Andreas and scooted off to Vipiano for pizza. Hit the spot exactly. Such a delicious Italian - you can guarantee that anything you order, will taste yummiie. Hm, but Julians pizza didnt look to appealing.. think it was those big artichokes. After pizza, another scoot back to Julians for prrrrrrrison break - now up to episode 12, so a grand total of 5 episodes tonight. ye ye yeeeh. On the ride back to Jools, I was looking around at how pretty everything was.. really felt like I was gonna miss Hamburg.. when I leave. Its so different from home, and although i looovveee all u guys back home, Glasgow city just doesn't compare to Hamburg. Its so beautiful here.. Almost done wanna leave.. A nice sleepy evening after a busy weekend....
